The Evolution of Pentatonix
Before we welcome the new members, let's take a quick trip down memory lane. Pentatonix, or PTX as their fans affectionately call them, was formed in 2011 on NBC's The Sing-Off. The group originally consisted of five members: Avi Kaplan, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Mitch Grassi. They won the competition and have since become a global sensation, known for their incredible vocal performances and innovative covers of popular songs.
Saying Goodbye to Avi and Kristin
In 2017, after six wonderful years, Avi Kaplan and Kristin Maldonado decided to leave Pentatonix to pursue solo careers. This marked a significant change for the group, but they knew that the show must go on. So, they embarked on a search for new members who could fill the massive shoes left behind by Avi and Kristin.
